St Peters Buyers Agent
St Peters is bordered by Newtown, Enmore, Sydenham, Tempe and Alexandria. It doesn't get as much love as Newtown or Enmore, and perhaps it has been penalised by the WestConnex in recent years, however it is gentrifying and attracting more buyers.
It's a compact, historic pocket built around the Princes Highway and the St Peters church, hence the name.
The housing stock is mostly Victorian terraces, workers' cottages and a growing number of converted and new-build homes and apartments on its former industrial fringe.
The suburb has changed a lot in recent years. The May Street and Unwins Bridge Road pockets have picked up cafes, breweries and small bars, spilling over from the Newtown and Enmore scene next door, while Sydney Park on the eastern edge is one of the Inner West's best green spaces.
Why Buyers Are Looking at Annandale
St Peters offers the Newtown and Enmore lifestyle at a slightly sharper entry point than its louder neighbours.
You get the period homes, the parkland at Sydney Park, the emerging food and bar scene and a more residential feel than King Street, with St Peters station putting you two stops from Central.
Buyers here are a mix of first home buyers, professionals and young families chasing character housing, walkability and quick city access. For those priced out of Newtown it's often the natural alternative, and it's a tightly held market where well-presented homes move fast.

The Pockets We Like
The quieter residential streets on the eastern side near Sydney Park, and those toward the Newtown border, are the most tightly held and hold much of the best period stock.
Closer to the Princes Highway and the rail line you'll find sharper price points.
We steer clients away from frontages exposed to the highway, and houses with industrial neighbours, in favour of the buffered streets that keep the character without the noise.
The Princes Highway and WestConnex works bring traffic, aircraft noise from the flight path is a real factor on some streets, and parts of the suburb are still industrial. Parking can be tight and narrow on the older streets.
Entry level and custom built houses in St Peters
Houses are what most buyers come to St Peters for, and it's a competitive, tightly held segment.
The stock is dominated by Victorian terraces and workers' cottages, alongside a growing number of renovated period houses, and architect-designed homes on former industrial land.
Well-presented period homes and clever extensions, particularly on the quieter streets near Sydney Park, attract the strongest competition and tend to sell quickly.

The Apartment Market
St Peters' unit market blends 2000's era unit and townhouses with newer developments, including a development in the works for hundreds of new units
The townhouse market gives buyers options to upgrade into something bigger, but a step before the house price tag.
One and two bedroom apartments make up most sales, and proximity to St Peters station, Sydney Park and the Newtown food scene keeps demand and rental interest strong.

Buying in St Peters

Buying property in the Inner West
Do I need a buyer’s agent?
Not everyone does. Some buyers are comfortable managing the process themselves. Others prefer to have help understanding price, vetting property, and dealing with agents, especially in a competitive market like the Inner West.
What does a buyer’s agent actually do?
A buyer’s agent works on the buyer’s side of the transaction, rather than representing the seller.
That can include searching for property, assessing opportunities, communicating with agents, negotiating, bidding at auction, and helping buyers make informed decisions throughout the process.
Different services suit different stages, depending on how much support you need.
