Camperdown Buyers Agent
Camperdown gets less attention than it's neighbour, Newtown.
Some buyers dismiss it as a university suburb and, while it is home to Sydney University, it's also quite a diverse suburb. The median age and balance between renters and occuropiers for example, is nearly equal to that of Newtown.
Sitting just 4km from the CBD, Camperdown sits in a sweet spot between the Inner West and the city fringe. It's close enough to walk, cycle or bus into the city, while still maintaining its residential feel.
Why Buyers Are Looking at Camperdown
Camperdown is popular with both first-home buyers and investors.
For first-home buyers, it offers a lower entry price than many neighbouring Inner West suburbs while still providing lifestyle and easy access to the city.
For investors, Camperdow's appeal is in its proximity to employment and education bubs, like RPA, USYD, Broadway shopping centre, and Newtown's entertainment preccinct. These amenities support strong demand from both tenants and future buyers.

The Pockets We Like
Camperdown is a small suburb, but it still has its good pockets and less desirable spots. The best areas are the wide streets, including Hopetoun, Marmion, and Roberts St.
The biggest complaint is the traffic. It borders Parramatta road. Plus, the traffic in and around RPA can be tricky. Some streets are also dominated by apartment developments. While we need more housing supply, the density, if not carefully considered, causes additional congestion.
Low Supply of Character Houses
Many people associate Camperdown with apartments, but there are some beautiful period homes throughout the suburb.
Well-located Victorian terraces attract strong competition whenever they come to market.
The challenge is supply. While there are a few 2-bedroom terraces, there aren't many decently-sized 3+ bed houses available. When quality houses are listed, buyers often compete aggressively.
The median price for a house in Camperdown is $2,212,500.
46 houses were sold in Camperdown in the last 12 months.
The median days on market for a house in Camperdown is only 24 days.

The Apartment Market
Camperdown is best known for its apartment market.
The suburb offers everything from older brick apartment blocks through to large-scale developments and modern lifestyle complexes.
This creates opportunities for first-home buyers, downsizers and investors, but it also puts a spotlight on due diligence.
Building quality, strata management and owner-occupier appeal can vary significantly from one complex to another.
The best-performing apartments tend to combine convenience with strong lifestyle appeal and quality building fundamentals.
The median price for a unit in Camperdown is $930,000.
211 units were sold in Camperdown in the last 12 months. The median days on market for a unit in Camperdown is only 28 days.
Buying in Camperdown
Camperdown is a suburb where understanding individual buildings and pockets can make a big difference.
Two apartments with similar floorplans can have very different long-term appeal depending on the quality of the strata.
Competition can also be strong for quality terraces due to the limited supply.
As a local buyer's agent, I help clients identify opportunities, assess buildings, access off-market properties and negotiate confidently.
Whether you're searching for your first apartment, a character terrace or a long-term family home, local knowledge can make all the difference in Camperdown.

Buying property in the Inner West
Do I need a buyer’s agent?
Not everyone does. Some buyers are comfortable managing the process themselves. Others prefer to have help understanding price, vetting property, and dealing with agents, especially in a competitive market like the Inner West.
What does a buyer’s agent actually do?
A buyer’s agent works on the buyer’s side of the transaction, rather than representing the seller.
That can include searching for property, assessing opportunities, communicating with agents, negotiating, bidding at auction, and helping buyers make informed decisions throughout the process.
Different services suit different stages, depending on how much support you need.
