Newtown Buyers Agent
Newtown is one of the most recognisable Inner West suburb. It's about 4km south west of the CBD. Many people don't know that Newtown stradles two local council areas; the Inner West and the City of Sydney.
King Street runs through the centre of the suburb and it's known as one of the areas best food and bar precinct. It's also popular with Sydneysiders for second-hand, and vintage shopping.
The suburb is creative, diverse and inclusive, which sets it apart. It is extremely well connected, with Newtown station on the main line into the city, frequent buses, and the University of Sydney and RPA hospital on its doorstep.
Why Buyers Are Looking at Newtown
Newtown appeals to buyers who want to be in the middle of everything, with the community, food and nightlife of King Street and Enmore Road a short walk away and the city a few minutes by train.
The housing is classic inner-city terrace stock, the streets are walkable, and the location is hard to beat for anyone who wants to live without needing a car.
Demand comes from a broad mix of professionals, downsizers, investors and first home buyers, which keeps competition strong for the well-located terraces and apartments.

The Pockets We Like
The streets I like most are the quieter residential pockets set back from King Street and Enmore Road, particularly North Newtown, but also Australia St, and Holmwood Street.
I would go out on a limb to say that Dickson St is the best street in Newtown. The street is wide and leafy, and the houses have stunning character.
Streets that are easily to park on, and protected from the main streets, tend to hold their value best and attract the deepest buyer pools.
The most common complaints are noise and late-night activity around King Street and Enmore Road. The parking, and ability to maneuver a car in some pockets requires expert-level skill which is off-putting.
Character Homes Are the Main Attraction
The Newtown house market is built almost entirely on character terraces: Victorian and Federation single and two-storey terraces and cottages, along with a smaller number of warehouse conversions.
Renovated and extended homes on the better streets, and anything with off-street parking and a usable garden, fetch a clear premium, while original-condition terraces with decent proportions are also in demand.
The median pricefor a house in Newtown is $1,940,000.
182 houses** were sold in Newtown in the last 12 months.
The median days on market for a house in Newtown is only 25 days.

The Apartment Market
Newtown has a solid unit market, from older walk-ups to warehouse conversions and newer boutique developments.
Apartments here are popular with buyers who want the King Street lifestyle and the transport on a first-home buyer budget, or a downsizer wishing to do away with the maintenance of a terrace. Well-located units with parking, outdoor space or character move quickly.
The median price for a unit in Newtown is $825,000.
132 units were sold in Newtown in the last 12 months.
The median days on market for a unit in Newtown is 26 days.
Buying in Newtown
Newtown is one of the Inner West's most iconic suburbs, and is popular across all generations.
Scarce houses attract a crowd of bidders, and auctions here can be fastand competitive.
I help buyers cut through that competition, uncover off-market opportunities, negotiate with confidence and steer clear of overpaying, whether you are after a classic terrace, a warehouse conversion or a smart apartment near the action.

Buying property in the Inner West
Do I need a buyer’s agent?
Not everyone does. Some buyers are comfortable managing the process themselves. Others prefer to have help understanding price, vetting property, and dealing with agents, especially in a competitive market like the Inner West.
What does a buyer’s agent actually do?
A buyer’s agent works on the buyer’s side of the transaction, rather than representing the seller.
That can include searching for property, assessing opportunities, communicating with agents, negotiating, bidding at auction, and helping buyers make informed decisions throughout the process.
Different services suit different stages, depending on how much support you need.
